Prepaid phone cards easier to use: PIN less dialing
Some have the doubt whether it would be easier to make long distance calls through the medium of prepaid phone card. The answer is an emphatic ‘yes’.
This convenience of using the card has been made possible through a mechanism called the ‘PIN less dialing’. When the card is purchased a number is assigned which is called the PIN (personal identification number) number. This is unique to the particular card. Whenever the person wants to call, he has to dial the PIN number followed by the country code, area code and the telephone number he is trying to call.
Normally, memorizing all these numbers is very difficult. This is particularly true of those who are frequent callers. Such persons in fact, carry a phone book and every time a call is to be made, they have to refer the phone book. In this method of dialing there are chances of wrong dialing also. To avoid such a situation, the calling companies have come out with an ingenious mechanism called the PIN less dialing.
In this method, as soon as the card is bought, the caller can register those telephone numbers which he would be frequently calling. He has to register these numbers with the helpline of the calling company. Whenever a call is to be made, all that he has to do is to dial the access number. The helpline identifies the caller and he is immediately connected to the toll free calling zone. He is simultaneously taken to the menu where he has registered the different telephone numbers. The caller will select the required number and he is instantaneously connected to the required number.
